Chris, Stefani and Ruth Ellen Visit!

This past weekend Chris, Stefani and Elle came to visit us. We had so much fun with the three of them. That is one cute baby too! She is very well behaved and always has lots to say. I can't believe how big she is getting! We spent much of the day on Saturday in Jacksonville and then Sunday we went on some hikes on Big Talbot Island. All in all, we had a great weekend and the only bad thing about it was that they had to go home on Monday!

Swimming with the Manatees!!!

Swimming with the Manatees was AWESOME! I would highly recommend it to everyone. We visited Homosassa Springs, FL with Brian and his friend Heather just a few weekends ago. We went with a group called Air Tank Divers. Other then being little rough around the edges, this is the company to go with. There were only four of us on the boat, where others had close to 20! With wetsuits and snorkels, we jumped into the Homosassa River and waited to touch some manatees. They like to have the algae rubbed off their backs so some of them will come up to you and let you give them a good rub down. Overall, it was a great manatee rubbing, gator eating, chilly trip! We are working on getting the underwater pictures up, but until then, there is a link to some more pictures from the surface:

Super Bowl!

For this year’s Super Bowl, Josh and I had some Rayonier friends over for the big event. I believe this is the largest number of people our house has seen and it wasn’t even that many! We had way too much food but everyone enjoyed as much as they could and then we had plenty of leftovers. Pebbles had a great time as well. She got her own seat most of the night and even enjoyed the selection of beverages. Although she never came out with much more than a mouth full of ice, I'm glad we could make her night too.

Pirates on the Run 2008

In preparation of the Pirates on the Run 2008, Brian came up to the customary high carb spaghetti dinner the night before. As he walked in the door, we were amused to Josh (3rd place) and Brian (2nd place) took their age group by storm yet again. Way to go guys!! The Jacksonville River Run will be here before we know it, so they are running in high gear right now.

Church Directory Photos

Although it seems like we just had our picture taken for the church directory, they are putting out a new addition this year so we got our pictures taken again. Last time they really weren't very good, but we are much happier with the shots this year. We bought the rights to the pictures and have them on a CD so if anyone has a request, please just let us know. We have many versions so if you want to see some other options just let us know. We also have some "very nice" pitcures of each of us leaning our chin on our fists, not too unlike the poses from Napoleon Dynamite. Sorry, but we will not be distributing those pictures :)

Rusty and Sykora's Baby Shower

Our friends Rusty and Sykora are expecting a baby girl this year, so of course there had to be a baby shower! The baby shower was held on a parcel of Rayonier property that sits on the St. Mary's River and is absolutely beautiful. However, that night it poured. Saying "poured" is an understatement. The road back to the facility is dirt and was a complete mud slick coming in and out. I was really glad we had a truck. I can't even imagine trying to get back there on the wet dirt road in a car. Luckily, the shower was in an enclosed pavilion and although a little chilly, plenty of good warm food, fun and friends made it a great evening. Congrats Rusty and Sykora!

Wii!!!

Josh, Brian and myself broken in the Wii. Need I say more??
