An afternoon on the kayak...

This past Sunday afternoon, we decided to take advantage of the less humid weather and hit the water in you very under-utilized kayak. Florida definitely has the outdoor recreation opportunities, that's for sure. As long as it isn't the middle of summer and a billion degrees plus 110% humidity! This was one of the many creeks along the coast, just two islands down from us. We couldn't have asked for better weather. Lots of nice scenery, the occasional jumping fish, and even an osprey perching on the bluff. The way back was a bit of a challenge, but all in all, a very nice afternoon. Welcome Florida fall! We have waited all summer for you!

Nicole - the Bay Area Keeper!

As if coming back with an Olympic gold isn't enough of a high for women's soccer in the US, next year will see the start of the new Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) League. Last week they allocated the gold medal players to each of the seven new teams. Bay Area (San Francisco area), Boston Breakers, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Chicago Red Stars, Washington Freedom, and Sky Blue FC (New York/New Jersey). Philadelphia and Atlanta are also slated to have teams in 2010. Nicole will be playing for the Bay Area team, which she is very happy about. Although the team doesn't have a name yet, you better believe we have already signed up for the fan club! Today they drafted some of the top international players as well. The Bay Area team picked up some great players, including some Brazilians. I hope they are nicer to their teammates than they are to their opponents on the field! Congrats Nicole, this is very exciting for you and soccer in the US. Good luck and go Bay Area!

Taylor turns 2!

While at home to celebrate Mom-Mom's 90th birthday, we also got to celebrate another birthday with the Geiser clan. Taylor, Randy and Trisha's little girl, turned two and celebrated with a very festive and tasty poolside party at Aunt Karen's. It is amazing how big she is getting. By the end of the year, she will even be a big sister to the new baby on the way. Congrats to Trisha and Randy!

A Visit with Steph, Adam, and Asher

On our trip to PA for Mom-Mom's 90th birthday, we spent Friday night at Steph, Adam, and Asher's beautiful new house. The house is big and wonderful and Asher is growing like a string bean! He has such a wonderful personality and zooms around the house with all his trucks. We had a wonderful evening of catching up on Friday and then spent some of Saturday checking out the new house (please notice the cool matching Tye Dye t-shirts courtesy of Aunt Hillary), playing with Asher, and having a ball at Dave and Busters. Asher's favorite thing beyond the grilled cheese was skeeball. Every time we would send a ball down the alley, he would yell in excitement. It was quite humorous. Josh and Adam spent most of the time racing and shooting at each on other in video games, while the ladies collected lots of tickets to get Asher a new stuffed dog (the orange thing he is holding). We had a great time with the three of them and we just wish it could have been longer!!

A New Truck!

Well, we finally said goodbye to the old maroon Tacoma. The old truck treated us very well and had so many memories with it (aka an emergency purchase in Wyoming!), but it was getting up there in miles and lots of other little things were starting to go wrong, so we made the jump to a shiny new (well, almost new) four door Tacoma. The truck rides nice and looks great. Come on down so we can give you a ride in our new wheels!

Labor Day Weekend in Fort Walton

Over Labor Day weekend we descended upon Craig in Fort Walton Beach. Gustav kind of killed out outside activities, but we did get to go to the beach one day, the Gulfarium (like a very mini Sea World), and some shopping. The rest of the weekend was filled with lots of good eats, lots of talking, and of course plenty of Wii! As you can see from the pictures, we had some very fun places to eat and Josh took eating to the extreme our last night there. With a very large, green drink and the famed "garbage burger" he left well watered and fed. Don't even ask what was on the garbage burger, you don't want to know... Thanks for a great weekend Craig! Next time we go, Steph will be there, yeah!!
