Gate River Run 15K

Every year Jacksonville host the Gate River Run. This 15K is the largest of its distance in the country and draws quite a few elite runners. Both Josh and Brian did great, with Josh coming in the top 10% again this year. They couldn't have had a better day for the race. A little warm and humid, but great cloud cover and a breeze. It was a fast race this year. Thank goodness, this is the last race for a while. The next race is not until the Shrimp Festival, so there will be plenty of time to rest up.

Since a mean case of the common cold hit our house and we weren't able to go to Raleigh earlier this year for the Krispie Kreme Challange, Josh and Brian decided to do the Jacksonville Mud Run instead. It was a 10K race with many muddy and challenging boot camp style obstacles. They had a blast, to say the least. Although they may not look that muddy, anyone who knows how sandy and watery the mud is down here will know how truley dirty they really did get. See the link below for more pictures.

Pirates on the Run

We are in the midst of the northeast Florida road race season, Amelia Island included. This 10K was on the island in February and just Josh and I ran it, with Brian sitting it out since it was so close to his marathon. We didn't get any pictures of Josh since it was just he and I running, but he managed to snap a picture of me as I as coming into the finish. Please note the lucky Nicole Barnhart jersey...

Dinner with Friends....

Back in February Rusty, Sykora, and Liliana were done and we all took advantage of that to get the group together. It was so great to have everyone together again since they moved up to South Carolina. It was a great evening to catch up with everyone and see how big the little ones are getting.

Brian's Turn at a Marathon

In February Brian got his chance at a marathon. He ran the Donna K. Hicken Breast Cancer Marathon in Jacksonville. Josh didn't run this race, so it was fun to have him to actually hang out with during the race! We were Brian's cheerleaders! Brian did great and maybe next year Josh and Brian will run it together!

Gram, gramps, and Mia come to visit!

Gram, Gramps and Mia came down for a visit this winter and we had a great time with them. They were enoute to see Aunt Mary and we enjoyed a tasty dinner and of course a game of dominoes! The evening wrapped up with some homemade ice cream for all, even Mia! We loved having them here.
