When we were in North Carolina, we went with Gail and Hugh to the U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte. The center is a hot spot of outdoor activities including a man-made whitewater river system, including a conveyor belt to take you an the boat back to the op of the run. We didn't do anything other than eat lunch and walk around, but hopefully we can go back when the weather is warmer and take a raft or kayak run!
