Jessie and Veron's Shower

A few weeks ago we helped host a bridal shower/engagement party for our friends Jessie and Vernon. Vernon works with Josh at Rayonier and they are a great couple. We had quite a spread of food and drinks and it seemed like everyone had a great time. We wish them the best!!

A Shiny New Bike!!

Hillary got a new Crusier bike for her birthday. It rocks!!! This bike has seen more miles in the last few weeks than the mountain bike has in the three years we have been down here!

Fort Myers Visit

A few weeks ago we went down to Fort Myers to Mary and Wally's house. Gram, Gramps, Harold and Pat were also in for the week and we had a jam-packed weekend with them all, especially Gram and Gramps. We got in late on Friday night and then started bright and early Saturday morning by jumping on a boat and riding out to Cabbage Key, off the coast. There we had one of the famous cheeseburgers that is rumored to have helped Jimmy Buffet write his famous song. Then Josh and I took a hike around the island before heading back to the dock to head back to Captiva Island. That day was a lot of fun and we had saw so much wildlife throughout the day including osprey (including babies), manatees, gopher tortoises, lizards, and even dolphins playing in the boat wake. Then on Sunday we got up even earlier and went shell hunting on Sanibel Island with Gram and Gramps, followed by a very, very tasty breakfast at a restaurant called the Island Cow. From there it was back to the house to clean up and head north back to Jacksonville. It was great to see everyone and we are very thankful to Mary and Wally for all the hospitality!

Melanie and Linda come to visit!

Melanie and Linda came to visit the first weekend in April and it was so great to have them here. We had a way too short weekend that started with Sushi and getting my car towed. But then a great dinner at The Crab Trap. On Saturday we went for a hike on Little Talbot Island. We found a ton of sand dollars and lots of other sea life including starfish, crabs and urchins. However, a major storm literally ran us off the beach. It was a bit scary. We finished off Saturday with a game of dominoes and a few rounds of Wii boxing. Linda was the champion boxer, to say the least. She kept defeating Josh in big way! Linda left on Sunday but Melanie hung around until Monday, so we took her to downtown Fernandina and she met the famous downtown pirate. All in all, a great weekend with some great ladies!! Thanks for coming Melanie and Linda!

Animal Kingdom

Mom Geiser had a conference in Orlando, so of course her Floridian kids came down to mooch off of the free hotel room and some bonus time with Mom. While she was stuck in a conference all day, we hit Animal Kingdom with Craig. The rather skinny girl is Flat Lindsey. She was a friend visiting from a school in PA. Craig and Josh were both good sports when it came to helping out with Flat Lindsey's pictures. We had a great time with Mom and Craig and the weekend wasn't nearly long enough!
